In February this year, Kent Metal Developments won a repeat order
from IAC Automotive in Sunderland to supply packaging for the new
Nissan hatchback. We had supplied an initial qty towards the end of
2006, and when IAC's order quantities increased, they had to increase
their packagaing quantities. Initially we went into IAC with cost
saving measures – looking at the packaging which had been designed
and prototyped – and bettering the designs both physically and financially.
In total we packaged 23 different parts for the new Nissan Note supplying
Stillages, and box solutions.
We offered 4 packaging solutions – Stillages, Polycarbonate dividers
in a box with a foam base, Spunbond Dividers in a box with a foam
base (for painted and finished parts) and PVC stitched bags in a box.
